Meghan Schmit, MSTOM, Dipl. OM, L.Ac.

Board Certified Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Herbalist

Meghan is licensed as an acupuncturist in the state of Illinois, and is Board Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

Meghan’s treatment strategies center on the belief that the body has an innate ability to heal, and that via diet, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other various life style modifications, she can help her patients achieve well-being.

She is deeply passionate about helping others move towards health while recognizing that each person’s journey is unique. Her top priority is to work collaboratively with patients to find a path of healing that works best for them.

Meghan’s practice involves treatment for a wide range of health conditions including but not limited to stress, headaches, allergies, digestive disorders, orthopedic injuries, women’s health, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and pain management. She earned her four-year Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She has interned extensively with David Vavrinchik of the NorthShore Integrative Medicine Center, learning further specialization in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, and continues to further her studies of canonical Chinese herbal medicine with her teacher Stephen Bonzak.

When she is not seeing patients, Meghan enjoys reading, camping, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.
