Amanda's journey began when she started working in mental and behavioral health facilities 10 years ago. Witnessing the pain and suffering of humans of all ages was at some points an unbearable task. From children, to teens, to drug abusers, and the severely mentally ill; something was missing in their treatments……Human Touch. Working in this environment led Amanda to become a Massage Therapist. She became fascinated with how the mind and body were so closely related and how by comforting and healing the body, you were doing the same to the mind.
Graduating with an Associate's degree in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, Amanda has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2005. Dedicated to providing bodywork customized to each individual, every massage starts with an assessment to target your specific needs. We are ever changing beings and everyday your mind and body are in a new space. It is important to adapt to those changes and create a massage that is as unique as the individual receiving it.
Amanda is currently attending Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago continuing her passion for holistic health and wellbeing. She will be graduating in September 2012 with a Master's of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor's of Nutrition. In 2011 she became certified in Pre-Perinatal massage via Carol Osborne's training course and an Infant Massage Parent Educator via The International Association of Infant Massage. Her other training includes: deep tissue, trigger point, hot stone, Swedish, crainalsacral, myofascial release, reflexology, and Reiki. Inspired by each client she has ever worked with; Amanda is dedicated to continuing her education to better serve those whom seek treatment.
