Traditional Chinese Medicine is a 2000 year old healing practice which looks at the patient as a whole being. The practitioner creates a diagnostic picture which synthesizes all the different proble m s a patient m ay have into a logical whole. In this m edicine, diseases and sy m pto m s are thought of as i m balances in the nor m al state of the body and treat m ent is applied with acupuncture and Chinese herbs with the goal of bringing the patient back to their nor m al har m onious state of balance. I believe that an enor m ously i m portant part of this process is patient education concerning the causes of their illness fro m a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective and what patients can do in their daily lives to help their treat m ent proceed as effectively as possible.

Acupuncture is an extre m ely effective m ethod for m oving energy within the body and eli m inating points of blockage and stagnation. These areas of blockage cause pain or proble m s in the bodies nor m al functioning.  Points on the ar m s legs and or torso are selected according to the patient's individual pattern and sy m pto m s. Treat m ents nor m ally last 30 m inutes and patients usually find the experience to be relaxing and refreshing.
